LEARN MORE ABOUT TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICES

Meet Karen Turner

I’m a parent, coach, business leader, and passionate advocate for neurodivergent individuals. My journey has been shaped by both profound loss and deep personal insight. The tragic loss of my son changed me forever, and raising a child in a world that often struggles to make space for difference, opened my eyes to the barriers individuals and families face daily.

I’ve seen how anxiety, self-doubt, and feeling like you don’t fit in can impact children, parents, and adults navigating work, education, and life itself.

A strategic HR professional by background, in 2019, I found myself in the world of Child Development as Business Director of two child development centres. This experience gave me firsthand insight into early intervention, therapeutic approaches, and family support for children with additional needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

.

I now work as a Somatic Trauma-Informed Coach and Neurodivergence Advocate for parents, as well as helping individuals schools, and businesses create trauma-informed, inclusive environments. I also volunteer as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Marches Family Network in Herefordshire, overseeing governance for a charity supporting families of children with additional needs.

Using somatic trauma-informed coaching, along with additional tools like psychometrics (for businesses and individuals), I help individuals, families, and teams better understand themselves and each other.

I believe that when we stop trying to fit into a system that was never designed for all of us, we can finally step into who we were meant to be.

My Qualifications

  • ICF Somatic Trauma Informed Coach

  • Level 7/PG Dip Diploma in Strategic HR Management (CIPD)

  • Chartered MCIPD

  • Master NLP Practitioner (ABNLP)

  • Diploma in Hypnotherapy (HMI)

  • Mindfulness Teacher (TMA)
